Bio

Let me introduce myself, I’m Simon Pritchard, Leader of the Town Council, I help my wife organise the local 5k and Junior parkrun and can be found in our fantastic park every Saturday and Sunday morning. 

A Highway Engineer by trade, I love nothing more than doing some long term strategic planning, but outside of work I love reading, photography, sport, music and art. Originally from the top end of the Rhondda, I cherish the strong community spirit that Pontypridd shares with its valley neighbours and take great pride in the welcome that Valley communities have traditionally extended to incomers from other parts of the world. 

I believe in the positive change that everyday people can bring, and that in a changing world, people working together outside of traditional, formal organisations can be the answer to improving everyone’s lives and futures. 

The Town Council has and will continue to work with any local groups looking to deliver improvements and change, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
