Pontypridd Town Council gears up for a fun-filled Summer as Family Fun Day Announced for August!

Pontypridd Residents will have plenty to enjoy this August Bank Holiday weekend with a fun-filled family event planned by Pontypridd Town Council. 

A variety of activities and entertainment are lined up for Pontypridd Town Council’s Summer Fun Day which will take place in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park on Saturday, August 27th. 

A funfair, arena acts, a music stage, food stalls and much more will be on offer. The Town Council’s popular vintage transport rally will also return, with an exhibition of vintage vehicles in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park. 


Pontypridd Town Council Chief Executive and Town Clerk, Tony Graham said:

‘This year’s Summer Fun Day is going to be our biggest yet. After a difficult two years for Pontypridd, we want to bring everyone together for a day to celebrate our community and most of all to have fun! We’re delighted to welcome back the vintage transport rally, a hugely popular Summer fixture in Pontypridd; along with musical acts, sporting activities, a funfair and lots more. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in August.’

Following recent staff changes, the Town Council wish to recruit an energetic Community Engagement and Outdoor Projects Officer who will work closely with the Community Development Manager and her team to implement our community engagement and outdoor project plans primarily based at our award winning Meadow Street Community Garden but also assisting at our various assets across the Town Council area. This role will be crucial in continuing the work of establishing the Town Council as a key anchor organisation within the area and ideally will develop or community engagement strategy as part of the Council’s Forward Development Plan (which is available on our website). This role will be important in continuing the development and success of the Community Garden and taking the learning from this project to other projects. The right candidate for the post will be creative, knowledgeable in this area, enthusiastic and be excited to work with us to expand and enhance our community offering and help support, grow and expand this project, dealing with community groups and the public and initiating other forward facing projects and events.
