Town Mayor 2018-2019

Congratulations to Councillor Lynda Davies duly elected as Pontypridd Town Mayor for 2018-2019

Lynda has lived in Pontypridd with her family for twenty-six years.

Her two children attended Coedpenmaen Primary School and Pontypridd High School. She worked at Pontypridd High School for 24 years as a teacher of Religious Studies and Philosophy and Head of the Religious Studies Department. One of her children lives in Trallwn with his family.

Lynda is one of the Town Councillors for the Trallwn ward and continues her voluntary work within the community.

I am proud to become the Mayor of Pontypridd Town Council. I am looking forward to meeting people and organisations working in and for our communities. I will take this opportunity to celebrate and share with others all that is great about Pontypridd – its history and its future.”

My chosen charity for the year is:    The Stroke Association Wales

Stroke is one of the biggest health issues of our time. One in six people, adults and children, will experience a stroke in their lifetime, and 1.2 million survivors and their families are struggling to cope with the effects of stroke today. The Stroke Association Wales works to change the lives of stroke survivors across Wales, making sure that they make the best recovery they can, supporting people to walk again, talk again, regain their independence and take back their lives.
